Adwa AD332 EC/TDS/TEMP Portable Meter for Water Analysis

Adwa AD332 EC/TDS/TEMP Portable Meter for Water Analysis
with RS232 interface & GLP

Adwa Website - AD332 Instrument Page
Adwa, AD332, EC, Electrical Conductivity, TDS, Total Dissolved Solids, Temperature
Water Tests to Analyze Water Quality:
PH: Power "Potenz" of Hydrogen.
ISE: Ion-Selective Electrodes.
ORP: Oxidation Reduction Potential.
EC: Electrical Conductivity.
TDS: Total Dissolved Solids.
SS: Solved Solids.
DO: Dissolved Oxygen.
TEMP: Temperature.
COD: Chemical Oxygen Demand analysis by two different methods:
1- CODCr: the dichromate method.
2- TiO2/UV: photoelectrochemistry (the PeCOD™ method). Color, Turbidity, Salinity, CL-, PO4, NH3,NO3 and etc.
  • TDS = keEC (ppm or mg/L), The correlation factor ke varies between (0.4 - 1.0) (default value for AD332: 0.5)
  • Salinity was based on chloride concentration: S = 1.80655*Cl
  • TDS meters can be used to test for Salt (up to the maximum range of the meter). Salt is a part of Total Dissolved Solids and therefore will be part or all of the reading. If you are first filtering the water, and then adding salt, simply use the meter as you would under any circumstances. If there is only salt in the water, and the reading is 2500 ppm, then the it is 2500 ppm (mg/L) of salt.

  • The USA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the World Health Organization (WHO) and most nations put maximum limitations on TDS allowed in drinking water from 500 to 1000 ppm.
  • If you drink 1 liter of water a day, your body will have processed 25567 liter of water over a 70 year span. If the water is not totally pure, this 25567 liter will include (20 - 30) Pound of rock that the body cannot utilize. Most will be eliminated through excretory channels. But some of this will stay in the body, causing stiffness in the joints, hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, gall stones and blockages of arteries, microscopic capillaries and other passages in which liquids flow through our entire body.
So that care about the water that you drink.

MOOC Oil and GAS, IFP School MOOC

Objectives:

After successfully completing this course, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the international energy scene and the issues at stake in the oil and gas industry – i.e. consumers, producers, main actors and prices.
  • Describe the main processes and techniques of oil and gas exploration and production – i.e. geosciences, drilling and production – and describe their cost structure and their legal framework.
  • Describe the main operations in refining, petrochemistry and gas processes and assess the diversity of products and the interactions between those three industries.
  • Describe the specificities of the marketing and distribution of oil and gas and their products.

Introduction to Running Pipe in Oil and Gas Wells (Pipe02x)

The instructors: John Mennie & Mario Vespa are professors at Tenaris University.

Running Pipe in Oil and Gas Wells, Pipe02x Tenaris University

Learn about the importance of proper preparation and handling of casing and tubing used in oil and gas wells.

About this course:
  • Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) casing and tubing play a critical role in the drilling and completion of oil and gas wells. “Introduction to Running Pipe in Oil and Gas Wells” will explain how to prepare and install OCTG in oil and gas wells safely, illustrating best practices that contribute to operational reliability and efficiency and minimize environmental impact.

What you'll learn:
  • An introduction to Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) operations and their role in the oil and gas industry.
  • What activities should be performed during preparation for running & running operations.
  • What tools should be used to run a well.
  • How the correct practices can minimize risks and improve product reliability and efficiency at an oil & gas drilling operation.

Introduction to Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) Pipe01x

The instructors: Mario Vespa & Julie Mathis & Tomás Castiñeiras are Technical Sales at Tenaris University.

OCTG, Oil Country Tubular Goods, Pipe01x Tenaris University

This course introduces the main criteria to consider when selecting pipe products to assure oil well integrity and mitigate risks.

About this course:
  • In this course you will learn how the geology of ground and drilling conditions require OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) with different characteristics; how tubular string design is performed; and how selected products are manufactured and tested. The following concepts will be explored:

OCTG Products:
  • A brief description of the different products used in an oil well, mainly casing, tubing and their connections.
  • The main characteristics of pipe body and connections. Differences between products meeting API (American Petroleum Institute) standards, proprietary steel grades and/or premium connections.
  • The basics of string design and material selection.

OCTG Production Process:
  • An overview of the seamless and welded pipes production processes.
  • How to assure and sustain quality through the complete production process.

  • Level: Introductory
  • Length: 3 weeks
  • Effort: 2-3 hours/week
  • Subject: Engineering

Mining Engineering (Newcastle University)

Mining Engineering (Newcastle University)
By Drs. Olivier Buzzi, Stephen Fityus and Anna Giacomini
Mining Engineering Newcastle, Drs. Olivier Buzzi Stephen Fityus and Anna Giacomini

Objectives:

Explore the many facets of mining engineering from exploration to production and mine closure.
  • This course will provide an overview of the different phases involved in the mining process. From exploration, impact assessment, production and processing of ore, up to mine closure.
  • Environmental and economic aspects will also be considered because they constitute important parts of the process as a whole. Emphasis will be placed on the key concerns of the mining engineer, the science behind rock behaviour as well as surface and underground mining operations.
  • By the conclusion of this course, you will have a general understanding of the overall mining process.
